La Loteria Taqueria – Where every meal is a celebration, and every bite tells a story.

Recently had an opportunity to try La Loteria Taqueria for dinner. I like that you order at the front, makes it very easy for the customer. The sheet pan nachos were exactly what I wanted and fresh. The queso wasn't quite the consistency I like but it was good. The California burrito was massive but the green chili not quite the depth of flavor we'd hoped for. Very quiet for a Friday afternoon but the decor was fun.

This Mexican restaurant is about 3 blocks away from my house in the Baker neighborhood. What prompted me to visit was a Denver Post article regarding their annual food contest featuring green chili this year. La Loteria Taqueria offers a mug of green chili with tortilla chips and a baked flour tortilla. They are relatively small location where you order at the entrance, take a table sign and sit at the bar or one of the 8 tables. Good menu with appetizers, tacos, entradas, multiple drinks including top shelf tequila and 4 mezcal. You can also get 3 frozen cocktails. They have happy hour from 3pm-6pm Mon-Fri and breakfast everyday till 3pm. I got the house Margarita normally for $9, but $1 off for happy hour. I added Tamarind to make it sweeter with no salt on rim. A colorful drink and tasty. I got 3 soft tacos (2 birria with goat meat & consomme for $5 each + 1 lengua: cow tongue for $5). I added the mug of green chili for $7. It was thick and full of pork. I then splurged on a tray of nachos for only 10. Lots of jalapeños, cheese and a generous scoop of guacamole. Of course, I ate it all. I added a 2nd Margarita made with Cointreau for $11. A sweet drink with a kick. They add an 18% service charge to compensate the staff, so no additional tip is needed. I noticed a fair amount of customers coming in for takeout. They play Mexican music over the sound system and have muted t.v.'s showing soccer in Mexico.

This spot is a must visit !! Food is Authentic and service was phenomenal Drinks are also filled to the rim also they provide a to-go option wink wink . I will definitely be a regular and visited 2 x today to share the experience ( don't judge hehe )

I like to come here for Taco Tuesday. Great prices and delish. They have a huge TV to watch so is it a Mexican Sports Bar vibe??? I don't really know. But I like it!

Great Mexican food and good vibes! Order at the counter and good luck finding a seat... You must get the chili verde soup any time of the year The food is great and service normally makes the experience worth repeating. Cheers

Amazing flavor!!! The atmosphere is so welcoming and warm. Highly recommended to try! The team is very attentive and kind.

Growing up, Lotería nights with my family were a regular thing. The vibe and decor are a perfect Lotería throwback, but it's the food that truly stands out imo. What I ordered: Elote Don Jose, Al Pastor Tacos, Carne Asada Tacos, Jarri Loco Margarita Best bite: Everything was on point, but the Elote Don Jose hit a special note. It took me right back to those days of grabbing elotes at the park with my parents and it was absolutely delicious. I'll be coming back for that alone!

A south Broadway staple! We got wayyy too much food but it was all delicious and now we have lunch huge portions, fun environment, great flavors.

I came here for the first time while visiting some friends in Colorado. Super cute place! Great for pictures. Food was pretty good. Real authentic food. While traveling to different places I find it hard to find authentic Mexican food. So I was impressed. The prices are reasonable for the portion sizes. You have to order at the front and they bring you your food to your seat. Just be ready for the 18% service charge already included in every bill.
